Glenn College and Sunin International Middle School of Jinju Successfully Host Canadian Summer Camp

In collaboration with Canada’s Glenn College and the Sunin International Middle School of Jinju, the two institutions successfully hosted an overseas English summer camp at Trinity Western University. The camp was held from July 13 to August 3, 2024.

The main goal of the camp was to provide students with global experiences and enhance their international competencies. The program included a variety of educational activities such as English language learning, scientific experiments, and artistic projects. Students were immersed in the Canadian educational environment offered by Glenn College and had the opportunity to experience Canadian nature and culture. Various activities were designed to foster a global mindset among participants.

Glenn College, a well-known institution specializing in TESOL and translation programs, has been organizing English camps since 2009. The partnership with Sunin International Middle School began in 2013 when they signed an overseas program agreement, successfully conducting overseas camps for six consecutive years until 2018. The recent collaboration was revitalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in 2020, which led to the current summer camp.

Sunin International Middle School, which was established in 2018, aims to cultivate globally competent professionals. Although small in scale, with a total enrollment of 90 students, the school is known for attracting exceptional students and offering excellent education. The school admitted approximately 30 students per grade, maintaining a small student-to-teacher ratio that allows for a more focused and personalized learning experience.

The successful Canadian summer camp is a testament to the strong cooperation between Sunin International Middle School and Glenn College. This collaboration is expected to help students develop their global leadership potential and provide them with valuable international experiences.
