Glenn College—renowned for its online TESOL and translation programs—announced the successful hosting of an overseas summer camp for finance students from Soongsil University. The camp took place from June 25 to July 23, 2024, marking the 11th consecutive year of this program in collaboration with Soongsil University’s SH&M Foundation.
The camp offers students an immersive experience combining English language education with cultural exchange. Participants reside with local host families, allowing them to experience Canadian daily life firsthand. At Global College, students attend English classes and engage in TOEFL practice sessions after school hours.
Beyond academics, the program includes group projects, interviews, and various activities aimed at enhancing practical English usage. A highlight of the camp is participation in volunteer activities during Canada Day at Canada Place. Through these events, students not only celebrate Canadian culture but also earn volunteer certificates from the Canadian Volunteer Association, enriching their personal and professional profiles.
A representative from Glenn College stated, “For over a decade, we’ve provided Soongsil University finance students with opportunities to experience Canadian culture and improve their English skills. We plan to continue developing diverse programs to help students gain a competitive edge on the global stage.”
