The field of TESOL is a complex, multifaceted, profession practiced in a wide variety of teaching and learning environments worldwide, ranging from positions that require a master’s degree or doctorate in TESOL and many years of experience, to those available to prospective teachers with shorter-term training in the field.

GC Online TESOL is an online diploma program offering the training on the fundamentals of English learning training for a diverse group of current or prospective teachers or administrators with limited formal training in the ESL field. It is not a certification program (e.g. TESL Canada), in which classroom observation and practice teaching components are required.

TESL Canada certification allows graduates to teach ESL in Canada and abroad.
The TESOL program offered by Glenn College is not a TESL Canada Recognized nTeacher Training Program. This means that upon graduation, students applying for TESL Canada certification must apply and be assessed through a Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) process.
For more information about the PLAR process visit the TESL Canada website.
